| Located in Linjiang Park of Youyi road community, the eastern part of Lujing, BaoShan District, Chen Huacheng Memorial Hall, in the Confucian temple, is converted from Great Accomplishments Hall, also called "Saint Hall", which covers an area of 474 m2 with a building area of 320 m2, and is a typical kind of second tier of eaves hipped gable roof building of Qing Dynasty around Jiangshu, Zhejiang and Shanghai areas. In front of the hall there are terrace, granite steps and road stones, one pair of granite stone lions sit at both sides of steps, with the east, west and north side being brick-walls and front side being three rooms fitted of long standing windows, and within the hall and around terrace to be of square-brick paved floor. In May, 1991, this Accomplishments Hall of Confucius temple was renovated and converted into " Chen Huacheng Memorial Hall " and opened to public on June 16th, the following year. The exhibition of the Memorial Hall are divided into three parts: Part A, Joining army in teenage, Repeatedly making battle achievements, Part B, Receiving orders in critical moment, Sacrifice his life in Baoshan, Part C, National hero name being inscribed in the temple of fame. This exhibition of the Memorial Hall tells a story of the national hero Chen Huacheng's life during Opium War (anti-British aggression). Chen Huacheng was born in an armyman family in Tongan county, Fujian province. He was appointed as garrison commander, provincial commander-in-chief, and moved to Jiangnan as provincial commander-in-chief in 1840. In 1842, He conducted soldiers to gun-shot British warships at Wusong west fort during Opium War. Although wounded in the right upper part of the side of his body, he conducted battle with the flag in his hand till he died at his post. His body late was buried in his hometown. The memorial temples for Chen Huacheng were constructed in both Shanghai and Fujian for permanent commemorate. The historical pictures, reliques, cannons, weapons, or their mimics, etc, are displayed, of which his used helmet being of high storage value. After completion and open to public, this Memorial Hall has been patronized by so many foreign and domestic visitors.
