This East Sheshan Park is situated in the Shenshan National Tourism and Holiday Zone, with altitude of 74 meters, and 35 kilometers away from Shanghai city proper. The East Sheshan hill mouth covers an area of 800 mu, with the supernatural fineness of its upper body, verdant forest, scenic nine peaks. There are rich propagated resources on the hill, of which the animal resources are: wild spotted deer, pangolin, and hundreds of various kinds of birds; the plant resources: camphor tree, bamboo and other 200 kinds; and particularly its bamboo shoots which possess orchid scent is famous. In Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kang Xi made a south patrol and came here and tasted this bamboo shoots. So he wrote three characters " Orchid Bamboo Hill" and named it "Orchid bamboo". In Ming Dynasty, there were already ten built scenic spots like Sui Gao Garden, Bei Shi Hill lodge, Mei Gong Fishing Rock, etc.

    This Park now possesses many amusement items: Bumper car, Sports car, Bouncing, Air flying chair, Electronic bamboo maze, barbecue booth, deer garden, Field sledge, etc.

    On the west side of East Sheshan Park, there is "Shanghai Forest Birds Garden" which covers an area of 20,000 square meters and feed more than 10,000 birds of 50 kinds, and is one of the largest scale popular science education bases for bird enjoying, loving and protecting.
