| An Overview Shanghai Nonggongshang Modern Agricultural Garden is a municipal level modern agricultural garden approved by the People¡¯s Government of Shanghai on May, 2000. It belongs to Shanghai Nonggongshang (Group) Company. To comply with the requirement of development and become a window of the Group, the Garden has established trial incubation bases and achievement bases for hi-tech agriculture and modern agricultural demonstration zone combining technical research, education and tourism as by the strategy enacted.
The Garden is located in the southeast coastal economic zone of Shanghai, with Yangshan Deep-water Wharf which is under construction on its east side, Shanghai Century Forest Park on its west side, Hangzhou Bay on its south side, rural land of Fenxian District on its north side. Luhu, Tingda, Yeda Expressway stand by the Garden. The Garden is 12 kilometers from the Yangshan Deep Water Harbor and 50 kilometers from the Lujiazui Business Center. In the Garden are Shanghai Fine and Standard Agricultural Base of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Organic Agriculture (organic vegetables) Research and Development Center of Nanjing University of Agriculture, Shanghai Experiment and Demonstration Base of Corm Flowers of Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry, and Baolu Lawn Company of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Shanghai Nonggongshang Modern Agricultural Garden Development Limited Company is responsible for tender and investment invitation, development management, and organization.
For 3 years¡¯ development, infrastructure construction has been completed over the centre zone. Ecological environment:
The Garden, enclosed from low beaches for cultivation, is high on the north and low in the south. It belongs to a subtropical monsoon climate which features in distinct season and abundant rainwater. The annual average temperature is 15.5¡æ, the highest is 37.9¡æ, the lowest is -10.4¡æ; the annual rainfall is 1091mm; the annual sunshine time is 1942 hours. It is ¡°the Production and Demonstration Base of Pollution-free Agricultural Products Designated by the Ministry of Agriculture¡±.
