| Fongjing Town, which located on the west border of Jingshan District at East longitude121ˇă and North latitude30ˇă54ˇä, is the southwest gateway of Shanghai. It borders on Zhejiang province and has a common boundary with Jiashan, Pinhu, Songjiang, Qingpu and Jingshan. The total area is 54.32 square kilometers and the urban area reaches 2.38 square kilometers. The population of Fongjing is about 40,000. Zhufong highway, Number 312 national highway, Shanghai---Hangzhou railway and Shanghai---Hangzhou superhighway cross the town, the transportation network links Fongjing with southern provinces such as Zhejiang or Fujian conveniently, makes it the ˇ°bridgeheadˇ± of Shanghai.
