|  Kite has a long history. It’s said that Han Xin, a general under the leadership of Liu Ban in the Han Dynasty invented the first kite to spy on the battle array of Chu Army. Through evolution for over 2000 years, kite-flying has become a favorite recreation for people. After 1992, Fengxian located at the south bank of Hanzhou Bay holds the Kite Festival in early spring (March) or golden autumn (October). People make friends through the kites to exchange the flying skills. Kite Festival is now a traditional festival for people in Fengxian. It has sponsored Third International Festival and Fifth China Kite Invitation Match sussessfully. Tens of kite delegations from all over China and over 20 countries including UK, USA, France, Australia, Norway, Holland and Belgium have participated in the contests to have a competition of the skills of making and flying the kites, which attracted thousands of visitors. 
During the Kite Festival, many tourism and visit activities are carried out to promote economic cooperation, for example, Economic and Trade Negotiation Meeting, Trade Fair and Entertainment Performance. China Daily, Jiefang Daily and Wenhui Daily have reported Fengxian Festival to the whole world. Watching the beautiful kites flying above the broad bay in the pleasant weather, you will feel delighted and relaxed in this wonderful kite world.
