     South China Music
Special Culture     

   South China Music is also named music with traditional stringed and woodwind instruments. It was very popular in Jiajin of Ming Dynasty . According to The Cultural Annals of Jiadingfrom1912 to 1953, there were 5 groups of South China Music with 630 performers . Among which the longest ones are Yaoli Zhiyunguo Society of Malu Town and Guo Society of Wuxing Village of Changzhen Township, which all have a history of more than 100 years . Now it is the fifth generation . Before and after liberation they trained a lot of performers for other provinces .

As for traditional stringed and woodwind instruments , there are banhu fiddle, Bejing opera fiddle, middle fiddle, sanxian, pipa, Qingqin, xiao, sheng, bamboo flute and jiban. The traditional music composition are Meihuasanrong, Laoliuban and Suhe, and some folk music or Guangdong music. In 1987 the Folk Art Collection Office of Jiading County got 115 music compositions in the area, among which 51 ones had a recoder and written music score, 64 ones had an old music score and were translated into modern ones.
