Vice Minister Qu Dongyu Meets Vanuatu’s Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity

On May 9, Vice Minister Qu Dongyu and Matai Seremaiah Nawalu, Vanuatu’s Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity, held a bilateral meeting in Beijing.

 

According to Vice Minister Qu, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs attaches importance to cooperation with Vanuatu in fishery and encourages enterprises to put investment in fishery so as to support the sustainable fishery development in the country. He expressed his hope that Vanuatu could provide a favorable business environment for the enterprises development in order to promote long-term and stable development of China-Vanuatu fishery cooperation so as to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results. Vice Minister Qu also suggested that the two sides could set up a mechanism of bilateral agricultural cooperation through discussion in order to enhance the exchange of visits by two ministries and their experts as well as technicians, and jointly promote the cooperation in agricultural production, processing and trade.

 

Mr. Matai Seremaiah Nawalu expressed his hope for further support from China in fishery cooperation, and Vanuatu stands ready to work together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China in order to further expand agricultural cooperation with the purpose of advancing the level of agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
