In 2016, the transformation projects of a total of 116 administrative villages in Shanghai were included in the municipal level finance award and allowance budget of the year, benefiting about 71,800 farmer households in 7 districts of Jiading, Baoshan, Fengxian, Songjiang, Jinshan, Qingpu and Chongming. This year saw the biggest advancement in village transformation in history, with number of projects reaching 22% of the total planned transformations in the 13th Five-Year Plan period. Project construction was fulfilled beyond the plan in some outer suburb areas. For the construction of projects approved for the year, total investment of about 1.45 billion yuan was made, including 1.02 billion yuan as special award and allowance fund of the municipal level finance (including central finance). Up to the end of 2016, the village transformation work has been done for a total of about 500,000 farmer households, accounting for about 2/3 of the total work quantity in Shanghai.
