On August 24, the Media Outreach on China-Africa Agricultural Cooperation was held in Beijing, with an aim to introduce the agricultural and rural developments in China, review the progress of China-Africa agricultural cooperation, enhance mutual understanding, and strengthen the foundation for China-Africa agricultural cooperation.
At the meeting, officials from the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) introduced the agricultural cooperation progress between China and African countries, as well as the agricultural and rural developments in China. The delegates attending the meeting exchanged views on issues of common concerns, including China’s rural revitalization strategy, agricultural and rural policies and China-Africa agricultural investment and trade, rural poverty alleviation and agricultural product quality and safety, among others. They also discussed key areas with potentials to strengthen China-Africa agricultural cooperation in the future.
In total, 29 journalists from 28 African countries attended the meeting. They are participating in a training program in China. Officials from the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and other competent departments of MARA also attended the meeting.
