Vice Minister Qu Dongyu attended the 4th Sino-German Agricultural Dialogues and Exchange on November 28 in Beijing and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Vice Minister Qu pointed out that leaders of China and Germany always attach great importance to Sino-German agricultural cooperation. During his visit to Germany in March, 2014, President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Angela Merkel witnessed the singing of the Framework Agreement on Establishing Sino-German Agricultural Center in China Between the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China. As a milestone, the Sino-German Agricultural Center, officially launched in March, 2015, in Beijing, is the only platform of bilateral agricultural cooperation jointly established by the two countries in China. Since the Center was established three years ago, it has played an important role in carrying out exchanges of agricultural policies, pushing forward exchanges and cooperation between enterprises, promoting extension and demonstration of agricultural technology and facilitating farmer training and vocational education. In the next phase, Qu hoped that agricultural ministries, professional associations, agricultural enterprises and technical experts in China and Germany further strengthen coordination and communication in terms of improving cooperation plans and focusing on key areas so as to promote cooperation and innovation and break new ground for the bilateral agricultural cooperation.

The meeting was attended by over 180 delegates from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, the Development Research Center of the Sate Council, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German Embassy in China and the EU Diplomatic Corps to China.
