The 19th China Green Food Exposition and the 12th China International Organic Food Expo were opened in Xiamen, Fujian on December 7. Chief Agronomist Ma Aiguo from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech.
With the theme of “Green Production, Green Consumption and Green Development”, the exposition comprehensively displayed the achievements of China in green food and organic agricultural products since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, summarized and exchanged good experience, built a cooperation platform, facilitated trade matchmaking and promoted green consumption. Mr. Ma Aiguo pointed out that after more than 20 years of exploration, China Green Food Exposition has become a window for the display of China’s quality green food, a platform for trade matchmaking and a great event for exchanges and cooperation. This year, China Green Food Exposition was held together with China International Organic Food Expo with a view to further highlight the high quality and safety of China’s agricultural products and meet consumers’ demands for green, quality, specialized and branded agricultural products.
The exposition was divided into two sections exhibiting green food and organic agricultural products respectively, with an area of 37,000 square meters. In the green food exhibition section, there were on display tens of thousands of green food products and high-quality, specialized agricultural products of 1,699 green food companies from various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). In the exhibition hall of organic agricultural products, there were more than 1,000 organic products of over 500 companies from home and abroad. 57 overseas companies participated in the exhibition, setting a new record. The exposition also invited more than 2,000 Chinese and foreign buyers for trade negotiation.
