Vice Minister Qu Dongyu visited Germany and the Netherlands during January 17 and 22.
During his stay in Germany, Qu attended a series of activities during the Berlin International Green Week, mainly including Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference, Reception for G20 Agriculture Ministers, FAO High Level Seminar and Sino-German Agricultural Center of High-level Seminar on Agricultural Digitalization to Tackle Climate Change. At the same time, he specially hosted the Promotional Campaign for Chinese Digital Agriculture. Qu stressed that China proposed informatization in agricultural as an important strategy for agricultural modernization in G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting in Xi’an, 2016. The theme of this GFFA focused on “Agriculture goes digital – Smart solutions for future farming”, which exactly consolidated and advanced the achievements of the Meeting. It is worth appreciation for its sense of the times and forward-looking.
During his visit to the Netherlands, Qu held bilateral talks with Jan-Kees Goet, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Netherlands, attended Seminar on Circular Agriculture in Wageningen University and conducted field visit to World Horti Center and Royal Agrifirm Group. Qu expressed that China-Netherland agricultural cooperation boasts a long history, a wide range of fields and a solid foundation. He hopes that agriculture departments of the two sides will continue to strengthen the agricultural cooperation mechanism, constantly expand agricultural cooperation and further deepen cooperation in such fields as rural development, green agriculture, animal health and agricultural trade.
