New construction technologies will be adopted in the Shanghai Municipal engineering projects this year, according to the Shanghai Municipal Engineering Administration Bureau yesterday.

A series of up-to-date technologies will be used in the local mid-ring-road construction project with a span of 70 kilometers and a total investment of 13.8 billion yuan (US$1.66 billion) in order to minimize the negative impact on local traffic.

Shanghai will develop an intelligent transportation guidance and monitoring system for local elevated roads this year to offer convenience for local citizens, and make studies on an integrated transportation network in the Yangtze River Delta region.
