| Recently, the permit management system has been officially implemented at Shanghai Chongming Dongtan Wetland Birds Nature Reserve and any units or individuals that need to enter the protection zone for scientific research, environmental education, teaching practice, special operations, film or TV photo taking, visits and other activities shall acquire the permit first. The permit is graded from 1 to 5. Currently, the protection zone is working on a plan for the annual utilization of tidal land and wetland and a measure for control of visitors to the zone. In addition, efforts shall be made to restore and reconstruct wetland and build wetland park, bird-appreciating houses and pavements and other supplementary facilities so as to regulate wetland eco-tourism and meet the citizen’s demand for returning to nature, wetland sightseeing and tourism.
