China’s First Agricultural Insurance Company to Be Founded

Shanghai Anxin Agricultural Insurance Shareholding Co., Ltd. is estimated to be officially founded at the end of this September. Backed up by the risk funds accumulated for many years, the company is jointly founded by 11 enterprises. The operation of the company will continue to be supported by the government policies and the policyholders will continue to enjoy financial subsidies to their premiums. The company will continue to adopt the mode of “Supporting insurance with insurance”, which has been proved successful. Its range of business will be extended to cover insurance on agricultural-related assets, responsibility insurance, short-term personal accident injury insurance for farmers and health insurance, but the business of plantation insurance and breeding insurance should be maintained at a certain proportion. In addition, the company is exploring the establishment of the agricultural re-insurance system, seeking for ideal partners for cooperation and sharing of the risks of insurance on huge catastrophes. According to the present estimation, the company will begin to make profits in its third financial year.
