Pig farmer paid

Shanghai Daily news

Under mediation by the Jinhui Town government, a mechanical factory agreed to compensate 98,000 yuan (US$11,807) to a stock farm owner surnamed Xue who complained the constant noise from the factory hurt his pigs. From March to May, Xue found 48 sows at his farm in Fengxian District miscarried while many piglets didn't grow. He attributed the problems to a pile driver that worked day and night in the nearby factory. An investigation by veterinarians suggested the pile driver's noise could have affected the pigs.
