Starting this year, Songjiang District will plant a new type of "super rice" - a tasty hybrid grain created by renowned rice scientist Yuan Longping. The district's agricultural commission is planning to grow 1.3 hectares of the new rice this year. If successful, the planting area will be expanded to 667 hectares.
