This research base is to be located on Chongming Island, China’s third biggest island, and to be built jointly by the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. There is a “framework” of cooperation between the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the European Union and the launch of the research base program will be an dynamic support for the framework of cooperation.

It is learned that scientists will mainly conduct on this research base the meta-synthesis of the purification technology of agricultural resources for production, which contains three major parts: before production, during production and after production. The research on the pollution-free technology of agricultural products before production will reveal the interactive relations among water, soil and atmosphere and organisms, describe the possible mutual pollution on the organic agricultural production resulting from different pollutive elements, and conduct the research on comprehensive prevention technology according to different pollution interfaces. The technical research during the production of agricultural products mainly involves the comprehensive prevention and management of pests. The green technology after reaping the agricultural products includes fresh-keeping processing and high value added production.
