In accordance with the estimation of the Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Commission and the statistics department, the per capita disposable income of Shanghai’s farmers in 2006 will reach RMB9,200 yuan, a 10% increase over the previous year. Thus, the per capita disposable income of Shanghai’s farmers over the three years has exceeded the level of RMB7,000 yuan, 8,000 yuan and 9,000 yuan respectively, registering a rapid rise.
