Shanghai Municipal Agricultural Commission establishes a platform for agricultural exhibitions to help expand markets for agricultural products from other parts of the country. In 2006, 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China, together with Hong Kong and Taiwan, came for exhibition and the turnover reached over RMB20 billion yuan.

According to the introduction of Mr. Liu Lin, Vice-Director of Shanghai International Agricultural Exhibition Center, the National Green Food Exposition 2006 was an unprecedentedly grand occasion, with 35 delegations from all over the country, and the exhibition booths were out of supply. During the four days of exhibition, a total of over 1,000 purchasers from both at home and abroad came for business, with a total turnover of over RMB6 billion yuan, among which RMB30 million yuan went for retailing.
