Qingpu New City, the first of its kind in Shanghai, has been basically completed. Recently, it has won “China Awards for Model Human Habitat”.

Qingpu New City consists of the downtown area of Qingpu District, the outreaching western section, and Zhujiajiao. By 2020, it will have been developed into a medium-sized city covering an area of 53 square kilometers and with a population of 500 thousand. At present, the New City has gradually taken on an outlook of a “waterfront garden city” with blue waters and green vegetations.
