90% of Shanghai Suburban Towns to Take Measures against Pollution
 

Recently, the second phase project of Dazhong Sewage Treatment Plant at Jiading’s New Town in Shanghai started construction. In addition, this year Shanghai also plans to construct another 4 suburban sewage treatment plants, continue to build 4 such plants, and lay a sewage pipe network of 600 kilometers. By the end of 2008, Shanghai’s sewage treatment facilities will have covered about 90% of the city’s suburban towns, with a treating capacity of 60% of the sewage.
