Malu to Build A 3,000-meter-long Grape River

Tulufan in Xinjiang is noted for its grape valley; while Malu in Shanghai will soon have its “grape river”. A “grape river” integrating agricultural science and technology and cultural creation is being built. By next June, tourists can row boats in the river and pick strings of grapes.

The “grape river” is a new experiment of Malu Town, known as “Home of Grapes”, to integrate river course treatment with the cultivation and development of cash crops unique of the town. On the one hand, advanced and new technologies in grape cultivation will be employed and quality grapes will be planted on both sides of the river course. On the other hand, the river course will be renovated and the sludge will be cleared off, creating a zigzagging river course with blue water, picturesque and poetic.

The “grape river” currently has been designated as a demonstration scenic spot for national agricultural tourism.
