OVN, a world leading concept for food will blow into Shanghai, bringing poultry and egg products marked with OVN to the city’s food market next year, the Shanghai Drug and Food Administration revealed yesterday.

OVN (Optimum Vitamin Nutrition) aims to maintain animals in good conditions by adding a balanced mixture of vitamins to the feed used for livestock and sea food. The optimum vitamins will remain in their bodies.

The products derived from such animals will carry OVN labels. The farms of these products or the production bases of such feed can be traced back to guarantee the food safety.

Experts said that animals living on such feed would strengthen their ability to resist diseases, which helps to control the use of antibiotics in animal feeding.
