The information traceability system for safe pork circulation, which has been listed on the agenda of this year’s actual deeds to be performed by the Shanghai Municipal Government, will enable the citizens to buy safer pork. On the basis of last year’s pilot programs, this year the city will establish an information traceability system in its 600 standardized wet markets, 11 meat wholesale markets, 12 pig slaughtering enterprises, 133 hypermarkets and 20 meat processing factories in other provinces and cities, in an effort to establish a data base for pork circulation in Shanghai.
