According to the information released from the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Working Conference hosted by the Municipal Government of Shanghai on 24th, in recent years, Shanghai has clearly specified the index of minimum livestock products, further adjusted and optimized the industrial structure of husbandry, promoted the scale development, standardization, and ecological construction of livestock farms, and strengthened the prevention and control system for major animal epidemic diseases. As a result, its husbandry production has achieved restorative growth.

According to the introduction of the relevant agricultural department, since 2007, pig production in Shanghai’s suburbs has registered a two-year restorative growth in succession, the production of milking cows has remained stable, and the damping of poultry and egg production has decreased.
