Located in the north subtropical monsoon climate zone, Shanghai suburbs enjoy four distinct seasons, warm and moist weather, long time sunshine and abundant rainfall. The rainfall and quantity of heat are well balanced, beneficial for growing crops and raising livestock and poultry. In 2015 at Xujiahui Meteorological Station of Shanghai, the annual average air temperature was 17.4℃, the frost-free period was 324 days, the annual rainfall was 1698.4mm, including 967.6mm during the flood season, and the annual sunshine duration was 1525.6 hours.
