Tianmashan Huzhu Pagoda in Songjiang District is the world’s earliest leaning tower; two ancient brick pagodas at the northern end of Xianghua Bridge in Nanxiang Town, Jiading District are the only twin pagodas in the country with a history over 1,000 years; the Maqiao site of ancient cultural ruins is left from a village 4,000 years ago and the Songze site of ancient cultural ruins carries on the Majiabang culture 6,000 years ago and Liangzhu culture over 4,000 years ago. Other ancient cultural sites such as the Confucian Temple in Jiading District, the ancient town of Zhujiajiao in Qingpu District and the Square Pagoda, Drunken Bai Pond and Guangfulin in Songjiang District are known far and near.
